Treescape Tree Services is a tree surgery business and has operated for 20 years. It provides all types of tree surgery and associated works in a courteous and environmentally friendly manner.
Tree removal
The complete removal of a tree down to ground level. This work involves the careful lowering of branches and timber so as not to cause damage or destruction to surrounding plants and structures.
The stump will be left as close to the ground as possible but will be above soil level.
Root Treatment
Treescape Tree Services are able to provide tree root investigations using a specially designed, high pressure air tool called an air spade. By removing the soil around the roots a visual assessment becomes possible when it is necessary to inspect the below ground parts of the tree.
This is vital in assessing levels of root decay and identifying below ground problems such as girdling roots.
Crown Management
Crown Reduction - Reducing the overall size of the tree maintaining its natural shape when practicable.
Crown Lifting - Removal of lower branches to increase light and space at the base of the tree. Common practice for clearance for vehicles is 5.2 metres (17 feet), and for pedestrians 2.5m (8 feet).
Crown Thinning - Removal of a proportion of secondary branches to produce a uniform branch structure without altering the overall size or shape of the tree.
Hedge Management
Hedge Laying
This is a traditional landscape management technique originally used to create stock proof barriers from hedgerows.The aim is to cut through stems of the hedge in order to bend them over and interweave them. The laid stems then produce a vertical growth, which gives a thick, stock proof hedge. We also use hazel stakes and bindings, when requested. Hedge Planting
At Treescape Tree Services we offer a complete Hedge Planting service. We can assist with the choice of suitable species, whether it be for visual effect, stock control or wildlife habitat. We can source, deliver and plant material as required.
Hedge Maintenance
This initial service can be followed up by ongoing management and maintenance. Hedges can grow surprisingly quickly, especially Lleylandii, often requiring two or three cuts per year to create the desired effect. Treescape Tree Services offers a full hedge reduction and trimming service.
Planting
We can advise you on planting trees suitable for small gardens or large areas, for problems sites and screening buildings or roads.
When planting trees various factors need to be taken into consideration, including: aspect, soil, space, purpose, design, habitat.
Chipping, Compost & Firewood
Seasoned Firewood
We sell our seasoned firewood in two varieties:
Hardwood logs burn for longer and produce more heat, and consist of Oak, Ash, Beech, Birch, Apple and many more species. These logs are ideal for open fires and stoves.
Softwood logs tend to burn faster and produce less heat and consists mainly of conifers and pine. These logs are primarily ideal for stoves as they are generally cheaper than hardwood logs.
We offer free delivery and stacking within 10 miles of Abergavenny.
We take pride in delivering good quality sized logs. The logs are cut to a standard length of approximatly 25cm and vary in suitable thicknesses.
Our wood is sold by the truck load.
